How many a’s in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh?!

I was writing my next blog entry all in my head: how proud I was of the Terps for squashing Duke, how thankful I was that our b-ball team rocked (especially if you consider how much our football team sucks), what a terrific coach Gary Williams is, how I knew who I’d be putting my money on come March…I mean, come on. There was fifty-four seconds left and we were up by ten. Who knew it would all go horribly, horribly wrong. So, okay, it’s not the end of the world, but it’s times like this I wish I cared a little less.

Let’s hope the Superbowl goes better. My money’s on the Ravens. Why? ‘Cause they’re not the Redskins. Sure, sure I wish I could be rooting for the Pats, but we all know their story. Perennial losers.

lamb sandwich? yet another side

lamb sandwich? yet another side of me you haven’t seen

so saturday night for dinner, i pan-fried some chunks of lamb w/yellow peppers and onions (plus assorted spices), decided i’d rather have italian for dinner, stowed the lamb in the fridge and went out. sunday lunch, agonizing over what the hell to have, i saw the lamb in the fridge. hmm. took a bite, decided the lamb was too chewy so i threw it in the food processor and pulsed it until it had the consistency of chicken salad. then i put it on some tomato basil bread that i happened to have just baked that morning.

probably the oddest flavor combination ever, but it is actually quite tasty.

Looking for a good time?

Looking for a good time?

No, no. Get your mind out of the gutter. Not that kind of good time. I mean the kind of good time that’s two parts innocence and one part John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Yes? Then go see the 1964 pop classic A Hard Day’s Night. We caught the last show at Dupont last night, and I have to tell you it was pure enjoyment. (meh? is that legit?). There was a certain naïveté about those young lads, and their music had a kind of charm to it that I haven’t heard in a long time.

Here’s the odd part: I went home and played the only Beatles album I have (the white album), and was a little disappointed. It was so dark by comparison. Sounds like it’s time for a trip to Napst–I mean, the mall.
